Cotton yarn used in bed sheet fabric and its production process
cotton
There is a lot to say about cotton. We will focus more on hotel textiles and products sold in our country.
The biggest factor affecting cotton quality and price is fiber length. The longer the fiber, the longer the thread. This can improve the quality of the fabric.

Egyptian cotton; due to the suitable climatic conditions in the growing area, it can be said to be the best quality cotton. Single-piece woven high-quality corn cotton sells for $60-200 in the United States and Europe. If some people claim to sell fabrics woven with Egyptian cotton at a price lower than these prices, we suggest that you don't take it seriously and keep searching.

American cotton; it has a high quality due to modern production technology. In terms of the quality and price balance in tablecloth production, we prefer American cotton. The fiber is quite long, and a high-strength yarn is obtained. Contrary to popular belief, cotton produced not only in the United States but also in Mexico is considered US cotton.

Pakistan, India and China cotton; they are classified as low quality. Its fiber is very short. The biggest factors are the climate characteristics and the use of old-fashioned agricultural techniques. Yellowish or brown fibers are common. Therefore, the quality and price of products in these countries are very low.

Cotton yarn type
– Open-End Yarns; they are low-strength yarns produced according to an open spinning system with a maximum thickness of Ne 30/1. They are often used in many clothing, home and hotel textiles, and are the lowest-priced yarn type.

-Carded Ring Yarns;
They are non-composite yarns made of short cotton fibers. Their strength is higher than that of open yarn. Carded ring-spun yarn is usually used in bed linen/bedding, towels, blue jeans, household and hotel textiles, and is of medium quality.

Combed cotton ring yarns; this is the highest quality cotton thread. As the name suggests, they are used for high-quality linen fabrics, such as combed cotton, shirts, jackets, and sportswear. Compared with carded yarn, it is cleaner and more uniform. Its strength is better than ring-spun and carded ring-spun yarn.

Finishing/dyeing technology for bed sheet fabrics;
Generally, the finishing steps applied to bed sheet fabrics are as follows.

1-) Pretreatment process;
-Combustion and desizing
-Bleach in a bleaching machine
- Mercerizing
-dry

2- coloring
Reactive dyes are dye chemicals used to obtain bright colors in cotton fabrics. Using reactive dyes, permanent dyes with high washing durability can be obtained.
– Use of binder chemicals called "binders" to adhere the pigments and dyes to the yarn. If your fabrics change color during washing and lose their vitality in a short time, it means that they can be dyed using this cheap dyeing method.

3-) Organize homework;
– The fabric is disinfected. If the sterilization time is short, the process is carried out randomly, and the finished product will continue to stretch.
-Give fabric softness through the touch process.

After the weaving process, the sheet fabric will enter the dyeing room. Because the quality of cotton and yarn vary, not every fabric uses the same finishing formula. If the product enters a comatose dyeing field, and the necessary laboratory research has not been carried out, and if cheap Far Eastern chemicals are used for the finishing/dying process, high-quality fabrics will not be obtained.

If you know, we have not reached the number of famous threads in all bargaining centers. We can easily tell; compared to the 82-thread cloth imported from Pakistan, India, and China, the 52-thread cloth woven with Turkish cotton is of better quality and processed in Turkish paint shops.

Thread count/thread count in bed sheet fabric
Up to about 157 threads (1 square centimeter) can be placed on the loom. Since the fabric shrinks during the finishing process, this value is a maximum of 180 metal wires. Used to make high-quality shirts of 120 strings and above.

Can produce 80-120 series of very high-quality household quilt covers. However, when it comes to hotels, the number of wires must be carefully selected.

As the number of wires increases, so does the strength. In addition, since the threads are very thin, fabrics with a high thread count can obtain a softer touch. However, if you want to buy bed sheets for accommodation services, you must consider frequent washing, which is an unexplainable factor in home textiles. Frequent washing is the enemy of spun yarn.

Lime and other particles in the water, as well as chemicals in detergents, penetrate into the fabric almost every day of the hotel’s washing process, causing thin threads to weaken and even break through friction.

In order to increase the number of strands per square centimeter, it is necessary to make the thread thinner. As the number of strands increases, the diameter of the wire will become thinner. As the yarn becomes thinner, it wears prematurely and tears during frequent washing.
